New to the Boston area, Bar Volpe serves gourmet Southern Italian fare under the direction of Chef Karen Akunowicz, who spent many years in Italy studying to be a pasta maker. As expected, the menu centers around freshly made pasta, with a wood-fire grilling being the primary method of cooking.

Early standouts on the menu, according to diners, include the burrata, arancini, marinated mozzarella, spaghetti al limone, and pizzetta bianca. Be sure to save room for dessert, as the gelato en brioche and yogurt panna cotta are already earning rave reviews. They also serve coffee beverages, beers, wines, and cocktails.
